The House, Winnie, and Your Hosts
Your Hosts, Abbey & Stephanie Underwood
The home known to us as "Winnie's place" is more than 150 years old and one of only a few remaining original structures from the Seven Acres of the Governor Smith Mansion Estate, built between 1865 and 1880 as what we believe to be the groundkeeper's cottage.
The property still boasts to this day, its distinguished French Second Empire roof, well-kept grounds, and bountiful garden!
Purchased in the 1940s by Winona and Ralph Underwood, it has housed three generations of the Underwood family for over half of its existence. Since, it has been lovingly updated by Abbey and Stephanie Underwood to share its magic with guests from around the globe for years to come.
Abbey and Stephanie have made this property available for family, friends, and folks like you, seeking relaxation and recreation!
We believe the best communities are diverse, equitable, and inclusive and we hope all will feel at home when visiting Winnie's Place.
